FAQs

Does my student loan repayment depend on how much I owe?

No. Repayments are based only on what you earn above the threshold. Owing £20,000 or £60,000 makes no difference to the monthly amount.

When is a student loan written off?

It depends on the plan. Plan 1 loans are usually written off 25 years after you were first due to repay (or at age 65 for older loans), Plan 2 and Plan 4 after 30 years, Plan 5 after 40 years, and Postgraduate loans after 30 years.
