Subscription cost calculator
Small monthly payments are easy to ignore. Add them up for the year, then tick the ones you'd cancel.
| Subscription | £ a month | Cancel? |

Prices are typical UK examples, so overwrite them with what you actually pay (it's on your bank statement). Annual plans: divide by 12.
How to find every subscription
- Scroll back 3 months on your bank and credit card statements, and search for "subscription", "monthly" and app store payments.
- Check Settings → Subscriptions on your phone (Apple and Google).
- Look for free trials that turned into paid plans, and duplicate cloud storage.
Cancel, rotate or downgrade
You don't have to give everything up. Rotate streaming services: keep one at a time, binge what you want, then switch. Downgrade to ad-supported tiers. Ask before you cancel: gyms and broadband often offer a cheaper deal to keep you.

How much does the average UK household spend on subscriptions?
Estimates vary, but many households spend £40–£80 a month once streaming, music, apps, cloud storage and memberships are added up, which is £500–£1,000 a year.
Can I get a refund for a subscription I forgot about?
Sometimes. Contact the company first. If a payment was taken after you cancelled, your bank may be able to help through a chargeback or a 'continuous payment authority' claim.
